Thank you for collecting your lockdown learning pack. Please do not rush to complete this at once. Each day, we would like you to do the following:
We know how home learning can be really tough, please do not feel stressed about getting everything done. We are here to support you, just email or call and we will be in touch as soon as we can!
We will also be providing online learning in the coming weeks, if this is a problem for you please get in touch.
We are thinking of you all and stay safe,
Mrs Tonks, Miss Haywood, Ms Hutton, Mrs Thomas and Mrs Hall
In the event of your child needing to self-isolate when they are feeling well in themselves or if they are required to self isolate due to track and trace, they will need to partake in remote learning to ensure they do not miss class based learning.
Children will receive a pack of learning to complete for the first two weeks of requiring remote learning, then weekly thereafter. If you require paper copies, we will happily provide these for you. A key focus for children of this age is their early reading skills. We teach this through phonics (letter sounds). Reading daily with your child on top of any other activities will really help your child’s development.
We have an expectation that your child will complete learning activities set. However, we do understand how challenging it can be at times to get your child to complete these. We do not want you to feel overwhelmed and under pressure to complete this. Minimising stress is absolutely vital in a time like this for mental health. Some great tips can be found later in this document to support you at home. We would aim for a maths, reading and writing session each day with one other activity.
Children are to read from their own reading books or you can download and read free e-books from Oxford Owls. We will let you know what level your child needs to be reading.
A brilliant, fun and entertaining way to write.

Whiterose is the scheme of learning we follow in school for Maths, to support home learning Whiterose have produced daily lessons for all year groups to help teach and consolidate skills. These can be found following the link above. Every lesson comes with a short video showing you clearly and simply how to help your child complete the activity successfully.
Timetables are crucial to helping children succeed in maths. There are many online games but we highly recommend PiXl which we use in school. Your child has a log in for this already but you will be required to download the APP.
