Children who have a need identified by a physiotherapist, such as hypermobility, poor core stability or muscle weakness caused by a medical condition. |
A programme is recommended by a Physiotherapist after assessment |
Exit criteria as set out by Physiotherapy. (Usually school will only offer 2 terms of support at this level) |
Fine motor skills groups |
Children who are struggling with the development of their fine motor skills. The First Move programme which was devised by the Physiotherapy and Occupational therapy team to support these groups in school will often be used as the basis of exercises. |
A need to identified through assessment by class teacher and supported by SENCO |
The child’s fine motor skills improve. |
Gross motor skills groups |
Children who are struggling with the development of their gross motor skills. The First Move programme which was devised by the Physiotherapy and Occupational therapy team to support these groups in school will often be used as the basis of exercises. |

Personal Hygiene support |
Some children need support in managing their own personal hygiene issues as they have a medical condition that has hindered their development in this area. These children will be supported in ensuring these needs are met and supported in the development of these skills, as appropriate. |

Ear Defenders |
For children who are struggling with load noises and finds this distressing. |

Interventions and activities recommended by the Working together Team in relation to sensory processing |
Supporting children with different aspects sensory processing when recommended by a member of the Working together Team as part of a provision review for a specific child. |
