Once the new term begins, the theme of our assemblies is the power of community.
I would like to take this opportunity to bring to everyone’s attention, the Ermine East community group and website. Click Below:
As a group, we meet every term to discuss the important issues affecting many people who live on the estate. As a school, I feel it is so important to be involved in this, so we can take back the issues to school and make a positive impact and be a positive influence on the children of our wonderful community.
As an example, over the last few meetings we have discussed such issues as dog fouling, the success of groups and events going on in the estate such as Ermine Voices, information from various groups of people who are organising and running events for children and young people in the area, reports on the level of criminal activity from the police and Lincoln In Bloom. On many occasions, I have agreed to enthusiastically go back to school and talk to the children about some of these issues and events. I feel being part of the community is of vital importance to us. The children need to know about the positive things going on, on their doorstep. They also need to be aware of those things that affect a community negatively, so as to be more aware of their actions and how they may affect people.
Please have a look at the events going on in your local community and know that the school is always heavily involved and I will keep the children informed!
