Ermine Primary FC
This term has seen the Ermine football team begin their training for the continuation of their season in the Lincs league. We are already looking forward to our first fixtures in the final week of the first term.
We are also excited to be partaking in the ‘Healing Games’. As you may know, we are now part of the ‘Healing Academy Trust’ alongside a number of local schools. We will be facing St. Giles and Hartsholme Academy in a number of sports including football, with grand finals being held in June next year.
Our first fixture was away to Carlton Academy. We went into half time 2-0 down after some sloppy defending, however after being reminded what we were capable of we had a much more positive half and were unfortunate to lose 2-1. Well done, Carlton! We look forward to meeting you for the reverse fixture!
Our second fixture came against a strong Washingborough team. We were on the end of a 4-1 defeat which sounds far worse than it was. Ermine started slowly and at half time were 4-0 down! However, they came out with gladiator like determination and managed to win the second half 1-0! If we can now channel our 2nd half energy from both fixtures into the whole of our next matches, I am positive we will see some better results!
We have a number of fixtures over the next term, both in the Lincs League and in the Healing Games, keep an eye out in the newsletters and on social media for updates on fixture dates and be sure to come down and show your support.
Last year’s winners!
Mr Sale has been running a magnificent tag rugby club each Tuesday this term, where students have been learning the basics of rugby, as well is improving their agility and fitness
We have fixtures in November for our tag rugby superstars, we can’t wait to start our competitive journey! As you may remember, we were crowned Lincoln champions last year and we can’t wait to defend our crown at this year’s inaugural competition!
Mondays are the days for Netball with Miss Martin dusting off her netball trainers and leggings to get training our budding new netballers. With league and tournament games throughout the rest of the year, we can’t wait to hear how brilliantly our super netballers do!
Year 3’s and 4’s have been showing off their super stamina with Miss Colclough each Thursday evening. A new cross-country club has been set up for all those budding runners. Miss Colclough is a keen runner herself so if you think you’ve got what it takes to beat a teacher, come along each Thursday evening and show us what you’ve got!
