Our school values are integral to everything we do at Ermine Primary Academy. We have made huge changes to the school building to help remind our school community of these and our motto ‘Proud to Belong’.
However, displaying our values in the way we live our lives is the most important aspect. We focus on these values as part of our everyday teaching and learning. We also expect every adult to lead by example and model how these values can be lived out.
Each term we have a whole school value focus. Our focus this term is Kind.
We use our positive language, celebrate effort, and help each other to achieve through adversity, failure and exploration.
We had a great start to kindness this term with an amazing amount of donations for our Harvest Festival – all contributions went directly to the Lincoln Community Larder to support families across Lincoln – and we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated something for this great cause.
This was quickly followed by anti-bullying week with this year’s message of #changestartswithus where the whole school was focused on recognising what is bullying behaviour, what to do about it and how to prevent it from happening. Odd Socks Day was also part of this week to celebrate what makes us unique. Activities took place across school with different year groups working together – more of these are planned throughout the rest of the year to maintain positive relationships between our pupils.
The school helped raised over £300 for this year’s Children in Need Day by coming to school dressed in spots and all things ‘Pudsey’ – another huge thank you to all of those who contributed to this annual national event.
A great term’s effort to demonstrate our value of kindness in a huge variety of ways.
