Lucky pupils from Ermine Primary Academy were fortunate enough to meet a famous face from television on Monday.
Countdown’s Rachel Riley recently arrived in Lincolnshire to promote the benefits of STEM subjects while inspiring the next generation of science, technology, engineering and maths-based workers.
With the event being held at nearby RAF Scampton, the well-known 30-year-old presenter highlighted some inspirational tales from local employers that continue to play a fundamental role in the local economy.
With Siemens and Jaguar Land Rover represented, not to mention the Royal Air Force of course, our Ermine Primary Academy students even got to witness a first-hand air display on behalf of the Red Arrows!
Not to mention some children actually getting to sit within the cockpit of the aircraft itself!
As part of Riley’s talk on site, the 2016 event encompassed the theme of Women in STEM with local employers hoping that an increasing amount of females will embrace careers in such fields going forward.
As Ermine Primary Academy continues to underline its status as a top primary school in Lincoln, here’s the best of social from an incredibly fulfilling day.
